Woodlands is a planning area, a residential town, and a regional centre located in the North Region. The town is connected to Johor Bahru, Malaysia’s southernmost city, via the Johor - Singapore Causeway.

The planning area borders Sembawang to the east, Mandai to the south, and Sungei Kadut to the West. It is divided into 9 subzones, namely Woodlands Regional Centre, Woodlands East, Midview, Woodgrove, Woodlands South, Woodlands West, Greenwood Park, Senoko West, and North Coast.
