Kawasaki Heavy Industries & CSR Qingdao Sifang C151C are the sixth generation of trains to be used on the North South Line and the East West Line.
History
In the turnkey Contract C151C, 3 tenderers submitted bids – Kawasaki Heavy Industries, CSR Zhuzhou and Hyundai Rotem. On 22 September 2015, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced that it has awarded the tender to Kawasaki Heavy Industries/CSR Qingdao Sifang at a price of S$136.8 million.[1][2]
New features
The C151C will be the first MRT rolling stock on the North South East West Line to be fitted with fold-up seats[1]
