Alstom Metropolis C851E will be the third generation of trains running on the North East Line and the Circle Line. These trains are currently manufactured in Spain by Alstom Transport under the Contract 851E.
History
Alstom Transport was awarded Contract 851E in 2018 at a cost of $249.8 million for the construction of 36 passenger cars for North East Line and 33 passenger cars for Circle Line.[1] An additional of 36 passenger cars was purchased for usage on the Circle Line.[2]
