'''Dakota MRT Station (CC8)''' is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the [[Circle Line]] in Singapore. The station was served by 2 exit and entry points. The station was opened on 17 April 2010 along with the rest of Stage 1 & 2 of the Circle Line.
The livery of the station concourse is green and white.


The construction of Dakota Station and the tracks led to the closure of the stretch of '''Old Airport Road''' between Cassia Link and Guillemard Camp Road in March 2006. Instead, Jalan Tiga was extended to '''Guillemard Road''', opening up a traffic junction there. In addition, the old '''Guillemard Camp Road''' was widened to provide public buses enough space to drive through. Despite the widening of the road, there have been several accidents occurring near the T-junction of Guillemard Road and Guillemard Camp Road. The closed stretch of Old Airport Road has since re-opened on 29 December 2008 at 5am.
===2011 train disruption===
On 20 September 2011, a power fault disrupted train services at all stations on the {{CCL|b=}}. The four-hour delay left about 27,000 commuters stranded during rush-hour. Built in the middle of a HDB estate and within walking distance of several schools, the station serves many residents in the area since its opening on 17 April 2010. Food enthusiasts living far away can also travel here to the legendary Old Airport Road Hawker Centre.
 
Dakota station is named after the Dakota DC-3 aircraft that commonly used to land at the nearby [[Kallang Airport]] when it was still in commercial use.
 
Dakota station is near to [[Mountbatten MRT Station|Mountbatten station]], which is located on the same stretch of road and serve the area of Old Kallang Airport Estate and residents living along Dunman Road.

2011 train disruption

On 20 September 2011, a power fault disrupted train services at all stations on the Circle Line. The four-hour delay left about 27,000 commuters stranded during rush-hour. It was reported that leaks and a damaged electrical cable along the line were the cause of the disruption.[1] The disruption started at about 5.30 am. Train services were gradually restored from 8am and all services were restored just before 10am.[2] Investigations were carried out and the fault was traced back to a faulty cable beneath the platform level at this station.[3]
