Hougang is a planning area located in the North-East Region of Singapore. It has a land area of about 13.93 km2, Hougang ranks the 19th, 5th & 6th in terms of size, population & density respectively.

Hougang is the most populous in the region, being home to 222,310 residents and is made out of 3 subzones, namely, Defu Industrial Park, Kovan, Lorong Halus. It is bordered by Sengkang to the north, Geylang to the south, Bedok to the southeast, Toa Payoh to the southwest, Paya Lebar to the east and Serangoon to the west.
