Land Acquisition
In June 2003, the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) offered Chuan Park (a 99-year leasehold condo near the site of the station) residents $1 for 220m² of land, which comprised mainly car park lots, as the land was necessary to build the Circle Line. Nominal compensation was paid as it takes into account the increase in the market value of the condominium when the MRT station is built on the acquired land.[1]
