	From Sunday, 14 November 2024 to 31 October 2025, Train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT will end an hour earlier at 22:30 every Thursday to Sunday (except Public Holidays). This is to facilitate the upgrading of the BPLRT signalling system, as well as the testing of the new and retrofitted Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) on the BPLRT network. From Monday, 24 March 2025, supplementary bus service 979X will be introduced to provide a faster connection for residents in Yew Tee Village to and from Bukit Panjang MRT / Bus Interchange. Bus service 979X will supplement bus service 979 and serve selected bus stops along its route. It will operate on weekdays (excluding Public Holidays) during the morning and evening peak periods. Little India (NE7/DT12) is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the North East Line and the Downtown Line, and serves as an interchange station between the two lines.

Train disruptions

On 20 December 2012, train services on the North East Line was delayed due to a train fault. A statement from SBS Transit said there was no train service between Punggol and Little India due to a train fault. At about 5.18 pm, all train services resumed.

Fire at Downtown MRT Line construction site

No one was injured in a fire that broke out at a Downtown Line worksite along Race Course Road on the evening of 26 March 2014. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) told that a “small fire” had broken out at a “localised area” within the worksite of the Downtown Line Little India MRT station and had been put out by 10pm, after it first broke out about half an hour earlier.

Art in Transit

North East Line: Memoirs of the Past by S. Chandrasekaran, depicts the past of Little India when buffalo stables were seen.
Downtown Line: Woven Field by Grace Tan, features a landscape of tessellated triangular configurations inspired by the singhaulia woven patterns commonly seen in the traditional sari.
