Toa Payoh (NS19) is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the North South Line.

History

7 November 1987 Station officially opens
8 January 2006 Exercise Northstar V

This station was the first MRT station in Singapore to be completed, topping out on 5 August 1985, making it the first underground station in the world to be fitted with platform screen doors. Today, the concourse area bears the inauguration plate of Singapore's MRT system.
