Artworks

North–South Line: Symbiosis by Tan Zi Xi

The artwork highlights the interdependent relationship between flora and fauna, emphasising their mutual reliance and connection to the Earth. It was created through a collaboration between the artist and the Canberra community, based on the artist’s re-interpretation of their shared journey through the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. It not only depicts the biodiversity of the wetland, but also reflects the resilience and adaptability of living organisms in response to environmental changes driven by human activity.[1]

North–South Line: Canberra by Kelvin Lee, Monica Lim, Chris Lim

The mural captures the character and heritage of Canberra, a relatively new residential neighbourhood. It features key local landmarks including Bukit Canberra, an integrated hub offering sports and community facilities; Beaulieu House, a former colonial bungalow overlooking the Straits of Johor with naval historical significance; and Sembawang Hot Spring Park, home to Singapore’s only natural hot spring. Through these elements, the mural reflects the area’s natural landscape, historical roots, and community development.[2][3]
