	From Sunday, 14 November 2024 to 31 October 2025, Train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT will end an hour earlier at 22:30 every Thursday to Sunday (except Public Holidays). This is to facilitate the upgrading of the BPLRT signalling system, as well as the testing of the new and retrofitted Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) on the BPLRT network. Bus Service 20 connects residents in Tampines & Simei to key transport nodes at Tampines, Simei and Expo MRT stations, and also enhances inter-town connectivity, giving residents greater access to to the Changi Business Park area and Changi City Point. Its sectors within Simei estate duplicate Service 38, enhancing bus connectivity within the Simei estate.

It was amended to better serve Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and Changi South with the new Downtown Line Expo station from 21 Oct 2017 as part of the Downtown Line Stage 3 Bus Service Enhancements.

The route runs at moderate demand throughout the day owing to residential connections and workers from Changi Business Park.

Short-Trip Service 20A complements the peak hour demand of Bus Service 20 during morning peak hours of Weekdays. It connects Simei MRT Station and residential estates in Simei to SUTD, Industries in Changi Business Park as well as Expo MRT Station.
