SBS Transit Bus Service 157 is an inter-town service connecting the residential estates of Toa Payoh, Bukit Timah, Bukit Batok, Jurong East and Jurong West.

This service is unique for having a more direct route with more service coverage between Jurong West Avenue 1, Jurong East Avenue 1, Bukit Batok town and Beauty World. In addition, it passes by several key schools and institutions in Bukit Timah and Bukit Batok alongside Service 174, and plies the older stretch of Lornie Road alongside Service 165. As a result, it has been met with high demand by both residents and students commuting to nearby town centres, schools and other amenities during weekday peak hours and school dismissal hours.

Service 157 is one of four bidirectional bus services operating from Boon Lay Interchange with a last bus trip in the midnight hours, the other 3 services being 30, 154 and 187.
