	From Sunday, 17 December 2023, due to Thomson-East Coast Line 3 Bus Rationalisation: Bus service 75 will be shortened to terminate at Bukit Merah Int from Gali Batu Ter. Bus service 121 will be amended to start from Shenton Way Ter. Bus service 162 will be shortened to loop at Sin Ming Dr from Yio Chu Kang Int and converted to full-day service. Bus service 162M will be discontinued. Bus service 167 will operate at a reduced frequency of 30-minute intervals. Bus service 859 will be amended to ply Canberra Link, skipping a part of Canberra Rd. The first bus of bus service 980 from Sembawang Int will be brought forward to depart at 5:30am on weekdays and Saturdays, and 5:45am on Sundays and public holidays while the last bus towards Sembawang Int from the bus stop opposite Novena Church (B/S 50031) will be extended till 12:30am daily. In addition, its frequency will also be enhanced, especially along sectors parallel to bus service 167 . Please refer here for more information. From Sunday, 17 December 2023, to enhance connectivity to Woodlands South MRT station and Woodlands Health Campus, bus services 900 and 900A will be integrated as bus service 900 . It will be extended to ply Champions Way and Woodlands Dr 17, after Woodlands Dr 14 before looping around Woodlands Ave 1. Please refer here for more information. From Sunday, 17 December 2023, the operating hours of bus service 964 from Woodlands Int will be extended till 10:45pm on Saturdays. In addition, it will also operate on Sundays and public holidays. North East Line (NEL) is the third Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line. Traveling from one end to the other takes about 35 minutes. The line is currently 19.3 km long with 16 stations and it is fully underground and automated. It is the first line to have artwork integrated into all its 16 stations under the Art in Transit programme.

North East Line Extension

On 17 January 2013, a 2-kilometre extension which will run from Punggol through Punggol North including the new Punggol Downtown was announced. It is expected to be completed by 2024.

2012 train disruption

On 15 March 2012, more than 117,000 commuters were affected during a peak hour train breakdown between HarbourFront and Dhoby Ghaut stations, caused by faulty overhead power cables at the tunnel near the Outram Park station that had snapped. A second problem was discovered relating to electricity insulation, delaying the service further. Train services resumed at 4.35pm after nearly 12 hours of disruption.

Rolling stock

The rolling stock consists of Alstom Metropolis 751A, Alstom Metropolis 751C and Alstom Metropolis 851E trains. These trains operate from Sengkang Depot near Buangkok station.
