	From 14 November 2024 to 31 October 2025, train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT will end an hour earlier at 10.30pm every Thursday to Sunday (except Public Holidays). This is to facilitate the upgrading of the BPLRT signalling system, as well as the testing of the new and retrofitted Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) on the BPLRT network. SMRT Buses Bus Service 179 is a residential and school bus service that operates within Jurong West, connecting the transport nodes of Boon Lay station and Pioneer station to campuses around the southern part of Nanyang Technological University (NTU). It is one of the busiest bus routes throughout the day, with high frequencies and a huge fleet of buses catering to large groups of commuters that are mostly students.

During the NTU school term, weekday peak-hour supplementary variant, Service 179A provides faster journeys with limited stops only at Boon Lay station and in Nanyang Technological University, skipping all stops along Jurong West Street 63 and Pioneer Road North.
