SMRT Buses Bus Service 179A is weekday peak-hour supplementary variant of Service 179 that provides faster journeys with limited stops only at EW27Boon Lay and in Nanyang Technological University. It skips all stops along Jurong West Street 63 and Pioneer Road North, alleviating demand from its parent service.
