SMRT Trains
  • From Sunday, 14 November 2024 to 31 October 2025, Train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT will end an hour earlier at 22:30 every Thursday to Sunday (except Public Holidays). This is to facilitate the upgrading of the BPLRT signalling system, as well as the testing of the new and retrofitted Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) on the BPLRT network. Kim Chuan Depot is the sixth train depot in Singapore. It maintains trains for the Circle Line and the Downtown Line.

History[edit]

Date Event
28 May 2009 Depot officially opens
22 December 2013 Depot temporary served Downtown Line.
27 December 2015 Depot ceased serving Downtown Line.
21 October 2017 Depot Expansion (Tai Seng Maintenance Facility) opened to serve Downtown Line.

Reception Tracks[edit]

On the Circle Line, it has 4 reception tracks, 2 that lead to Tai Seng station and 2 to Bartley station.

On the Downtown Line, it has 2 reception tracks, 1 that lead to Ubi station and 1 to Bedok North station.
