It connects residential blocks, schools, and public amenities in Jurong East Neighbourhoods 2 and 3 to Jurong East Regional Centre. Services 98 and 98M provide a faster connection between Jurong East Avenue 1 and EW24NS1Jurong East without taking a detour via Toh Guan Road.

Operating hours are extended on the eves of public holidays to align with the last train at NS1EW24Jurong East. Revised timing will be announced closer to the respective dates by the operator.
