SBS Transit Bus Service 170X is a cross-border service connecting Kranji station and Woodlands Centre to JB Sentral in Johor Bahru. It complements the other cross-border services (Services 160 and 170). Although it officially starts from opposite Kranji station (Bus Stop 45131), most passengers heading to Johor board the bus at Kranji station (Bus Stop 45139).

It was formerly operated as service 170, identified by a blue destination plate. An 'x' was initially added in superscript to distinguish it with the introduction of newer buses equipped with electronic displays. Over time, the service was formally rebranded as ‘170X’, with bus stop poles updated to reflect this change. At Woodlands Checkpoint (CIQ), however, signage still inconsistently shows ‘170x’ (with a lowercase ‘x’), likely due to a typographical oversight.
