	From Sunday, 14 November 2024 to 31 October 2025, Train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT will end an hour earlier at 22:30 every Thursday to Sunday (except Public Holidays). This is to facilitate the upgrading of the BPLRT signalling system, as well as the testing of the new and retrofitted Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) on the BPLRT network. Please refer here for more information. From Sunday, 26 January 2025, two bus stops along Thomson Road will be merged and relocated to facilitate works for the North South Corridor. As a result, bus services 132 and 156 will call at the bus stop in front of Singapore Polo Club (51031) instead of bus stop after Mount Pleasant Road (51023). Please refer here for more information. From Sunday, 26 January 2025, the route of feeder service 230 will be extended to start and end at Toa Payoh Link (Caldecott station) to enhance connectivity for Toa Payoh East residents. Bus Service 16 connects the housing estates of Marine Parade, Old Airport, Bukit Merah and Tiong Bahru, as well as private estates around Joo Chiat and Upper East Coast, with connections to the City areas of Bras Basah, Orchard Road and Havelock. The route is well utilized between housing estates and the City, while also benefiting the Joo Chiat area with bus connections by plying a unique stretch of Joo Chiat Road.

The route complements Service 14 between the Mountbatten area and Orchard Road. Between Marine Parade and Orchard Road, the route complements Service 36, although taking a longer route through housing estates and the City. Demand for the service is moderate to high throughout the day owing to unique sectors and City-estate connections.

From September 2010, the route was amended to skip the Stadium area due to the construction of the Singapore Sports Hub. Therefore, the Stadium area is currently only served by Service 11.
