SMRT Trains
  • From Sunday, 14 November 2024 to 31 October 2025, Train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT will end an hour earlier at 22:30 every Thursday to Sunday (except Public Holidays). This is to facilitate the upgrading of the BPLRT signalling system, as well as the testing of the new and retrofitted Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) on the BPLRT network. Dover (EW22) is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East–West Line.

History

Construction controversy

Adjacent to the Singapore Polytechnic on one side, and undeveloped land on the other, the building of the station was met with reservations by some members of the public over the small area it serviced when construction began in June 1998. There were criticisms over the spending of "taxpayers' money" chiefly for use only by students of one educational institution.[2] The Land Transport Authority proceeded with the construction anyway, to serve commuters along Singapore Polytechnic with Dover housing estate.[3]
