SMRT Buses Bus Service 985 is an inter-town route linking the residential estates of Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Batok, Beauty World and Kallang.

This route passes through important town centres and amenities along the way, complementing bus service 188 in Bukit Batok West before heading to Bukit Batok Central. It also serves as a cheaper and time-competitive alternative to express service 506, serving deeper into Bukit Batok East and Beauty World before plying the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) to the outskirts of Toa Payoh. Finally, it complements bus service 31 in Kallang before reaching its terminus.
