SMRT Buses Bus Service 979 is an inter-town route linking the residential estates of Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang. It connects residential blocks, schools, and public amenities in Choa Chu Kang Neighbourhoods 5, 6 and 7 to Yew Tee and Bukit Panjang stations, as well as Bukit Panjang Town Centre. This service alleviates the demand from Service 302 between Yew Tee station and Choa Chu Kang Crescent.
