Go-Ahead City Direct Service 673 provides residents of Punggol West with greater connectivity to the Central Business District (CBD). By running parallel to existing rail lines, the service provides a travel alternative for commuters who relied on the rail network and feeder buses to and from work. The route incorporates an express sector between Punggol Way and Anson Road, utilizing the TPE, CTE, Outram Road, and Cantonment Road.

It is the 3^rd bus service to benefit from the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP) (2^nd bus service introduced under the programme), and the 23^rd peak-hour unidirectional city direct bus service introduced. On eves of Christmas, New Year, and Chinese New Year, the PM trips will be brought forward to depart earlier in the afternoon instead.
