Go-Ahead Bus Service 2 is an inter-town bus service that connects the residential estates of Changi, Tampines, Bedok, and Geylang to Downtown Core. A significant portion of its route runs parallel to the East–West Line, particularly between Tanah Merah and Bugis stations. It also plies continuous sections of roads without detour, between New Upp Changi Road and Kampong Bahru.

Short-Trip Service 2B supplements the demand from commuters heading to Upper Changi, Tanah Merah, and Bedok stations, terminating at New Upper Changi Road (Bedok Stn Exit A). It operates one trip in the afternoon and one trip during the evening peak hours on weekdays, and operates in the morning and at night on Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays.
