SBS Transit Bus Service 81 serves residential estates of Tampines, Pasir Ris, Kovan, and Serangoon. It serves an express sector along the TPE and KPE from Pasir Ris Dr 12 to Tampines Rd, along with Service 53. It is also one of the two services to have a loop direction along Serangoon station from Upper Serangoon Road, first road going through Serangoon Central and then Boundary Road before going back to its own interchange, the other being Service 82.
