	From Sunday, 14 November 2024 to 31 October 2025, Train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT will end an hour earlier at 22:30 every Thursday to Sunday (except Public Holidays). This is to facilitate the upgrading of the BPLRT signalling system, as well as the testing of the new and retrofitted Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) on the BPLRT network. SMRT Buses Bus Service 970 is a trunk route that links the residential estates of Bukit Panjang, Hillview, Beauty World, Bukit Timah, Holland Village & Queenstown to the central areas of Great World, Chinatown and Telok Ayer. The introduction of this bus route in 2000 also bears resemblence to the first generation of Service 5 that was withdrawn in 1999 under Bukit Panjang LRT Rationalisation.

Despite having moderate demand, Service 970 serves key housing estates, markets and town centres, which provides convenient commutes to passengers who can have doorstep access to public amenities from their houses.
