Tower Transit Bus Service 859 is an inter-town bus service that connects the residential estates of Sembawang and Yishun.

It is one of the two “feeder” bus services for the Sembawang estate, the other being Service 980. Sembawang is one of only two town estates without a dedicated feeder service, the other being Tengah. As a result, this service benefits from the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP), under which the late-night Short-Trip 859A was converted into a full-day service, and a new supplementary service, Service 859B, was introduced to operate in the reverse direction of Service 859A.

Buses departing Sembawang Interchange after 2315 hours terminate at Yishun Interchange instead of looping back. These trips are previously not indicated until the introduction of the “T” suffix (Terminating Trip 859T) in April 2021.
