Tower Transit Bus Service 965 is an inter-town bus service that connects the residential estates of Woodlands, Yishun, and Sengkang. It primarily utilises the Tampines Expressway (TPE) corridor to link the north (Yishun) with the northeast (Sengkang), making it one of five bus services (bus services 161, 168, 858, and 969) popular among residents travelling between the north and northeast.

Travelling between Khatib and Sengkang stations takes approximately 25 minutes, whereas the MRT (via Bishan and Serangoon stations) takes approximately 40 minutes. While bus service 85 provides an alternative route between Yishun and Sengkang, it took a longer journey via Jalan Kayu, and Sengkang West Way instead of the parallel Tampines Expressway (TPE) corridor. The convenience and time saving makes this service a practical option for commuters, as compared to the MRT.

This service duplicates with bus service 969 from Woodlands to the Tampines Expressway (TPE) corridor, with no significant difference in journey time. However, it plies Yishun Avenue 7 instead of Chong Pang City, resulting in high passenger demand being concentrated only between Yishun and Sengkang.

Buses departing Woodlands Temporary Interchange after 2240 hours terminate at Sengkang Interchange instead of looping back. These trips were not indicated until the introduction of the “T” suffix (Terminating Trip 965T) in April 2021.

Short-Trip Service 965A supplements the demand from the residential estates along Woodlands Avenue 7 and Yishun Avenue 7 to Admiralty and Yishun stations. It also serves various schools (Admiralty Primary School, Ahmad Ibrahim Primary School, Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School, Yishun Primary School, Xishan Primary School, and Yishun Town Secondary School). It also serves as a connection between Woodlands station and residential estates along Woodlands Avenue 7 during evening peak hours. It operates five trips during weekday morning peak hours and one trip during weekday evening peak hours.
