Go-Ahead City Direct Service 666 provides residents of Punggol, who rely on the rail network and feeder buses, with a direct travel alternative to the Central Business District (CBD). This service incorporates an express sector between Punggol Way and Central Business District via Tampines Expressway (TPE), Central Expressway (CTE), Outram Road, and Cantonment Road.

It is the 57^th bus service to benefit from the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) (70^th bus service introduced), and the 16^th peak-hour unidirectional city direct bus service introduced. It also benefit from the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP) (4^th bus service extended).

Evening peak-hour departures will be brought forward to the afternoon on the eves of Christmas, New Year, and Lunar New Year. Revised timing will be announced closer to the respective dates by the operator.
