History

Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced on 22 September 2015 that it has awarded the tender to Kawasaki Heavy Industries/CRRC Qingdao Sifang at a price of S$136.8 million.

Fleet Numbering

The car numbers of the trains range from x701 to x724, where x depends on the carriage type.

• The first digit identifies the position of the car from the closest end of the train; where ‘3’ represents first car, ‘1’ represents second car and ‘2’ represents third car.
  • (Example) Passenger Vehicle 705/706 would consist of 6 cars with serial number 3705, 1705, 2705, 2706, 1706, 3706 respectively.
• Depending on the direction of travel, the sequence may be reversed.
